Appeal for information following sexual assault in Gosport

We’re appealing for information following a sexual assault on Stoke Road in Gosport.

The incident was reported to police yesterday (7 February), however it took place between 9.50pm and 10.20pm on Tuesday 2 February.

This incident is being investigated and we are trying to identify a man described as follows:
  • White
  • 6ft 3ins tall
  • Skinny
  • Spots/acne on the bottom half of his face
  • Large headphones around his neck, which were black with a gold ring around each ear-cup
The man was described as wearing a black beanie hat, a black hooded top which had a small white squiggle (like a signature) on the left chest area, black trousers, white trainers, and carrying a black face mask.

Inspector Matt Wake said: “This was a very upsetting incident for the victim, who has now bravely come forward to report it to police.

“We have a very distinctive description of a man we want to speak with, and are asking anyone who may have seen this man in the Stoke Road area around the time of the offence to make contact with us.

“Equally, if you think you know this man based on the description, please call us.

“We ask people in this area to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police. Officers will be out on patrol in the area and carrying out enquiries as the investigation continues.”
