A man has been arrested as part of an investigation into a serious assault on a footpath in Winterthur Way.
Officers were called at 7.09pm on Thursday 19 June to a report of an altercation involving a group of three men and a woman outside blocks 1 – 53.
A man in his 20s had been assaulted. He was taken to hospital with a serious head injury and injuries to his face and eye. He has since been discharged.
On Friday 20 June, a 35-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
He has since been released on police bail with conditions until Saturday 20 September, pending further enquiries.
Officers are still investigating this incident, and would like to hear from anyone who has any information about what happened.
