Appeal for witnesses following a collision between a car and a cyclist on Portsmouth Road Southampton

Officers investigating a collision between a cyclist and a car on Portsmouth Road, Woolston on Saturday afternoon (9 January) are appealing for witnesses and CCTV.

At around 2.30pm on Saturday, 9 January, a cyclist was riding along Portsmouth Road, in the direction of Woolston, when he was knocked off his bike by a blue Volkswagen car close to the junction of Station Road.

The driver of the blue Volkswagen car did not stop and turned left into St Annes Road.

The cyclist, a 17-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and to homeowners on Portsmouth Road to check any CCTV they may have which overlooks the road and may have captured the incident.
