🚲 PLEASE HELP US TO PREVENT CRIME 🚲 –
·         Know your bike/s – PARENTS please take the time to photograph the make, model and frame no/s of the bikes in your household AND register them all on www.immobilise.com
·         NEVER leave your bike unlocked – NOT EVEN FOR A SECOND.
·         ALWAYS use a D lock – cable locks can very easily cut through.
·         Buy the best lock/s you can afford. 2 locks are better than 1.
·         Lock your bike to a firm, fixed, secure point – even in the garage.
·         Remove all detachable items such as lights, bags and quick release items.
·         AND REPORT it to us, if your bike is stolen – please be sure to give us all the details – Make, Model, Frame No and photos.
Please register ALL of your valuable items on www.immobilise.com - the national property register. Police have access to this database and can search the makes, models, serial nos, frame nos and then immediately find out the rightful owner!

MOTORBIKE RIDING THROUGH PEDESTRIAN AREA HEDGE END –

I’d also like to raise that I have been made aware of a post in the ‘Hedge End & Botley’ Facebook group, of a motorcyclist riding through the pedestrian area by the side of the Co-Op. The video clip shows a motorcyclist riding past a male and seeming to alarm the male pedestrian and there is also a comment from a female who the motorcyclist rode past too.

From what I can see, this has not yet been reported to us. I’d like to deal with this offence, it is extremely dangerous and as the poster has said this is a regular occurrence, it is very important that I speak to the rider. HOWEVER, I can only deal with this, if the witness’s come forward and report the incident. To the original poster, please report this to us and pass the motorbikes registration, so I can follow up with the owner / rider at the time. Please can you save the footage and burn to a DVD and I can arrange to collect from you, whenever is convenient.

Ultimately, I’d like to issue a section 59 warning to the rider, this will be kept on file for 12 months and if the rider is found to be driving that, or any other vehicle in a similar manner, we can seize the vehicle under section 59 of the police Reform Act 2002.

If you are the rider reading this – please contact me direct so I can discuss this with you.

I hope you are all enjoy your weekend - the weather is set to be a bit nicer tomorrow - PCSO Mica Woodcock 12948.
