Neighbourhood Team Update

Alert message sent 27/03/2020 21:06:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

In these unprecedented times, it’s important that we’re in this together! and each and every one of us has a role to play by following government advice. The vast majority are following the advice, and we thank you for listening.

However, for those who are not heeding the stay at home guidance, our officers will seek to engage, explain the circumstances and encourage you to do the right thing in complying with the government request. If considered necessary, we may take enforcement action by way of a Fixed Penalty Notice if you are putting others at risk.

Our top priorities are to ensure that we keep our local communities safe, maintaining the best service to the public, while also protecting officers and staff during these challenging times. We, together, can help support the nationwide response by following Government advice.

We have again been out and about today and continue this evening - see the #SanpShotInTime picture from earlier of the various neighbourhood team members around the district.
Tonight we also have special constable Jamie who is giving up his own time to patrol with us (Far Right) and our very own licensing officer Phil (Bottom left)
It does appear that as each day passes we see less people - which can only be a good thing!

This does answer many questions which you may have, and is updated daily with any changes.
I'm sorry I am not able to answer individual questions relating to your individual circumstances as these can be very difficult as all are very different. I strongly suggest that you read the above link which will contain the answer you are looking for.
The picture is rapidly changing and can move from one day to the next so even if I can answer a question one day this could in fact change quickly.
I will continue to post these updates when I can.

One question which has been asked on a few occasions is that of travelling to a location to do exercise or other recreational event, i.e. walk animals away from the home - The government restrictions DO NOT permit this.
The other which has been repeated is that of travel as part of work - The Government is not saying that people cannot go to work, they are being asked to work from home where possible. Many people cannot work from home, particularly tradespeople and the use of transport may be essential.

I hope these help those who asked.

Take care,

PS Trevor Taylor
