Request for information from Basingstoke Police

Alert message sent 24/01/2020 11:58:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

I am sending this request on behalf of my Police Inspector Richard Lane.
You may have seen press articles and also the Police Press Releases on the Basingstoke & Deane Neighbourhood Watch Association at www.bdnw.org.uk/v3 concerning robberies in the town area by a group/groups of youths. For everyone's safety & security, our police officers are anxious to gather as much information as possible and to put an end to this type of criminal activity.
The press releases on the website mention certain roads, but it is likely that this nasty activity can occur almost anywhere. Our police officers are carrying out extra patrols, but obviously they cannot be everywhere as they attempt to deter such activity. Knowing that well over 3000 persons are registered on the Alert system, and obviously concerned to assist, the police are asking for public help in reporting any suspicions at all about possible groups up to no good. Remember you are the 24/7 eyes and ears for your locality, so if you spot anything that you think may be suspicious, then do please call 101 or use the hampshire.police.uk website.
All information will be treated in strictest confidence and is vital to the investigations, so do please make that call. You can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or via their website.
