Garage and Outbuilding Breaks

Good morning Citizen

Longmoor Neighbourhood Policing Team have received 6 reports of garage and out buildings being broken into over the last few days across the Longmoor District.
These areas include Hawkley, Steep, Headley Down, Whitehill and Liphook.
Whitehill –
Between 26th August and 27th August 2019, a red Land Rover, registration number - RK68 OEK was stolen from a garage in Whitehill, Bordon.
Liphook –
It has been reported this morning that a Quad Bike has been stolen from Longmoor Road, Liphook.
Hawkley, Steep and Headley Down –
It appears from the reports received that items stolen were tools and gardening equipment.

Ensure your garage / outbuilding is locked and secure.

Consider the use of a garage defender.

Consider the use of a PIR alarm system within your outbuilding.

Consider the use of security lighting.

Consider the use of CCTV.

Consider uniquely marking your tools / garden equipment. Popular options include stamping, etching and UV marking.

Tether all tools and garden equipment to a secure point within your outbuilding. You can visit to search for recommended and reviewed security products.

Ensure motorbikes and bicycles are locked securely within your outbuilding.

Ensure your car is locked and that the alarm and immobiliser is fully activated.

Do not leave any valuables in your vehicle.

Keep your car keys away from any windows and doors to prevent them being “fished” through letterboxes or seen by an opportunist.

Register your valuables for free at – Take photos of your property and record serial, chassis and model numbers.
