Local Policing Update

Alert message sent 18/07/2021 16:24:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Firstly, we must apologise for not being able to update you sooner. This has been owing to sheer demand over the last week and in particular, this weekend. As I am sure you will appreciate, we must prioritise calls to service over our routine use of social media.

As many people are aware we there is currently an encampment which has established itself on the Yateley Green area. While the establishment of this site is in itself not a criminal offence, we are working with the landowners and persons on the site with a view to scoping their intentions.

We are aware of concerns raised by the community in relation to the site and we have and will continue to endeavour to provide a police presence in the locality. We have seen a large increase in reports from within the Yateley area concerning the site over the last 72hrs. These reports come in excess of a time of increased demand owing to the nice weather, pending easing of Covid restrictions and standard increase in demand over a weekend period. Please be assured that each report has been received and where you have not been advised otherwise, we will be in contact with you in due course.

Please continue to report concerns via the 101 non-emergency number or online via our website, www.hampshire.police.uk. While we may not be able to contact you back, we can say with certainty that each report is looked at with a view to patrols being undertaken in the area of concern.

We continue to strive towards increasing your quality of life within the Hart North area by reducing crime and providing a visible policing presence. We thank-you for your support and understanding.
