Man charged with failing to provide breath specimen following collision in Southampton

Officers have charged a man with failing to provide a breath specimen following a collision in Southampton.

Anthony Reed, aged 26, from Landguard Road, Southampton, has been charged with the offence following a single vehicle collision on Kent Road, Southampton between 5.15pm and 6.10pm on Friday 4, June. The incident involved a Yamaha motorcycle carrying two people.

Officers attended and located the motorcycle driver who had sustained head injuries. He was taken to hospital for treatment. The pillion passenger fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The motorcycle involved had previously been reported as stolen.

Reed is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 29 June.

Officers have arrested a 26-year-old man from Southampton on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and a 24-year-old man, also from Southampton, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and criminal damage.

Both men have been questioned by officers and released under investigation while our enquiries continue.
