Jamie Peter Evans jailed for 12 weeks

Alert message sent 09/09/2020 16:14:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

A quick update from this morning's court hearing following our earlier Hampshire Alert regarding 50-year-old Jamie Peter Evans.

Evans had been charged with three counts of breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order - his CBO was ordered by the courts following a number of incidents involving violence, aggressive and anti-social behaviour, and nuisance drinking and drug use.

Under the conditions of his CBO, Evans was banned from a number of areas in Ryde, but breached this on a number of occasions this month.

Today Mr Evans was jailed for 12 weeks. That's four weeks for each breach.

Sergeant Sam Warne, from Ryde NPT, said: "We said we would take action against any breaches of this criminal behaviour order, and with the support of the community we have been able to get a fast and positive court result.

"I urge people to continue to contact the police regarding those that cause the most harm in your community so we can take appropriate action."
