Sandown robber pleads guilty in court

Alert message sent 24/03/2020 14:12:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

A bit of positive news from court this week.

Towards the end of last year, you may recall we launched an investigation into three robberies which took place at shops along Avenue Road in Sandown.

The incidents happened on 19 November, 27 November and 16 December. We arrested and charged 35-year-old Craig Nathan Knowles, of no fixed abode, on 17 December.

Knowles had threatened staff, and in total over the three dates had stolen goods and cash worth up to approximately £700.

Well, he appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday (23 March) and pleaded guilty to all three robberies!

He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 1st May.
