Progress on Chineham Parish Scheme

Alert message sent 20/01/2020 20:24:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Dear Coordinators

I would like to update you on the progress with establishing the Chineham Parish Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.

The new scheme was set up late in 2019. I was setup as the coordinator. This required me to move from the role of coordinator for Maybrook. The two registered users in Maybrook were also moved to be members of the new Chineham Parish Scheme.

I wrote to all the registered members of the Puttenham and Warbleton Roads scheme asking for them to approve their move from that scheme to the Parish Scheme. There were no objections. This scheme had no coordinator following John Dick's move away from Chineham and no existing member volunteered to take on the role of coordinator.

I have now moved all the existing members of the Pundenham & Warbleton Roads Scheme into the Chineham Parish Scheme.

There is one outstanding technical issue that I have reported to the Technical Support team for Neighbourhood Alert and I hope that this will be resolved soon.

There remain several more schemes without coordinators that need to be addressed along with two schemes where the existing coordinators have expressed a wish to stand down.

I will repeat the process that I have followed with Puttenham & Warbleton. I will contact all the members of each scheme without a coordinator and ask if anyone would like to set forward to volunteer to take on the role of coordinator. If no one volunteers then those that do not object to being moved to the Chineham Parish Scheme will be moved. Anyone who does not wish to move will unfortunately be removed from the scheme membership since without a coordinator that scheme will be deemed dormant.

My Best Regards
Malcolm Wells
