Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Theft from Vehicle

Overnight between 15/11/2019 @ 20:30 hrs & 16/11/2019 @ 09:30 hrs a vehicle parked in Drift Road Horndean had its number plates taken. Please note that this type of crime has also happened elsewhere in the Butser area. These plates can be used in other types of crime so please report incidents to police and see advice below:

Park your car in a garage at night or park to prevent access to either front or rear number plate.
Park in a safe public car park.
If parking on a public road, park in a well-lit spot.
Use theft resistant number plates, which are designed to break apart if they are forcibly removed from a vehicle.
Fit security screws. Simple anti-theft devices can be easily fitted with a screwdriver in place of existing screws, but cannot be removed using standard tools (use correct security screws appropriate for the pre-existing number plate screw size and application).

Ask members of the public to contact police if they notice a car with different number plates on the front and the back of the vehicle.

If you wish to report any suspicious activity or speak to an officer regarding the incident in Drift Road please call using reference 44190411804.
