Theft of tools from commercial vehicles

Alert message sent 30/09/2019 16:54:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Dear resident,

We have recently had reports of tools being stolen from commercial vehicles overnight.
Please can you bear the following information in mind if you own a commercial vehicle
  • When leaving your car/van, close all windows and lock your car/van.
  • Upon locking your car/van try your car door to ensure it is actually locked.
  • When parking at home, use your garage. If you don't have a garage, park in a well-lit area.
  • Don't leave anything on display in your vehicle.
  • Take all your personal possessions with you.
  • Remove sat nav holders and visible sat nav ring marks from windscreens.
  • Leave the glove box open to show there's nothing inside.
  • Fit an alarm to your car.
  • Record the details of your property on the Immobilise website
  • Do not store your car's documents in the car.
  • More information about alarms can be found on the Thatcham and Sold Secure websites.
  • When possible please mark any high value items and note serial numbers etc so this makes them easier to trace
  • Consider getting a dashcam
  • Please report all suspicious incidents to police on 101
Many thanks
