Alert message sent 27/08/2019 15:20:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon,
Here is your community update for the past fortnight.
There have been two incidents of burglary reported.  Entry was gained into a property in NORWICH CLOSE by a tool being pushed through the letterbox and lifting the handle from inside.
A property in FALCON CLOSE had a vehicle stolen after entry was gained by the front door and car keys taken from inside.
There have been several theft from vehicles with vans being targeted in PETUNIA CLOSE, BRAHMS ROAD and MOZART CLOSE. (Read advice for van owners below)
Vehicle registration plates were stolen from vehicles in ELGAR CLOSE and QUILTER ROAD.
Vehicle windows were smashed in BORODIN CLOSE and WENTWORTH CRESCENT.  Other criminal damage occurred in BRITTEN ROAD when a metal clasp on a side gate lock was damaged, and a wall mounted post-box in GERSHWIN ROAD was damaged.
The following is a reminder to van owners:
Where possible remove items from your vehicle and store in a secure place.

Do not leave tools or equipment on view inside the vehicle.

Consider fitting an appropriate alarm system.

Apply a security marking product to power tools and equipment, or etch or emboss identifiable marks to these items.

Make sure van doors are securely lockable and consider having deadlocks fitted.

Make sure you physically check the van doors and windows.

Some of you may have seen the photo I posted on the Basingstoke Cops page on Face book.  The community garden behind Kempshott village Hall is truly a little piece of heaven. It is run by the charity ‘Inspero’ for the community, young and old.  More information can be found at
