Appeal made in racially aggravated assault investigation

Were you in the Picket Twenty area of Andover around 11.45pm on Friday 9 August?

If so, you may be able to help with our investigation into a racially aggravated assault on a woman.

It took place at the junction of Picket Twenty and Levy Road.

The 28-year-old woman was approached by a man she did not know. He racially abused her before pushing her to the ground and assaulting her.

After a struggle, the woman was able to run away.

She sustained a cut above her eye and facial bruising.

The man is described as:

• white
• aged between 23 and 25
• around 5ft 8ins tall
• of slim build
• wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jogging bottoms and white Adidas shoes with three black stripes on the side

Were you in this area at the time? Did you see what happened? Perhaps you remember seeing someone in the area, acting suspiciously?
