Hello Hayling Island!
 
Here are some incidents of note that Hampshire Constabulary have been dealing with throughout July 2019 on Hayling Island, including Burglaries, Criminal Damage, Theft, Drugs-related offences and Road Traffic offences.

BURGLARIES
 
07/07/2019 - Ref 44190235329
Between midnight and 07:00hrs Lily Sugars pub was broken into and a safe containing cash was stolen. The safe was later recovered.
 
13-15/07/2019 – Ref 44190249706
A briefcase containing a quantity of cash was stolen from a house on Ilex Walk during the dates stated.
 
20/07/2019 – Ref 44190253707
A property on South Road was broken into and several items were taken overnight. The offenders also stole a VW campervan from the driveway.
 
20/07/2019 – Ref 44190254797
A garage was broken into on Manor Road overnight. A bike and cycle trainer were stolen.
 
 
THEFT FROM VEHICLES
 
22/07/2019 – Ref 44190260378
Person reporting that someone had stolen the wheels and other parts from his van parked on Copse Lane. A suspect was quickly identified. A 51 year old male was arrested and has been charged. The items were recovered.
 
25/07/2019 – Ref 44190261828
A car parked at Langstone Hotel was broken into during the course of the evening and a suitcase containing items of significant value was stolen.
 
 
ROAD TRAFFIC OFFENCES
 
10/07/2019 – Ref 44190239481
A vehicle was stopped coming onto Hayling due to showing no insurance. The vehicle was subsequently seized.
 
26/07/2019 – Ref 44190261934
A vehicle was reported to be driving erratically along the Sea Front in the early hours. The vehicle was found and the smell of cannabis was detected. A search was conducted and small quantity of drugs was seized.
 
26/07/2019 – Ref 44190263224
Two males were found parked in a secluded car park on Havant Road late at night, with one of the males found with an unlit cannabis ‘joint’ in his mouth. This was seized and the male issued a Community Resolution to attend a drugs diversion course.
