Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Hello All,

Once again it’s time for your fortnightly update.

ASB- Mopeds continue to be a nuisance at Down Grange playing fields and Stratton Park and youths have been reported smoking cannabis in Oceana Crescent near to Beggarwood Lane. Increased patrols around Down Grange and Stratton Park.

Theft from Vehicles – a car was broken into and a laptop stolen in Pack Lane.  Another car had loose change taken from it while it was parked in Hepplewhite Drive.  N.B. don’t leave items on display in your vehicles.
A spare wheel was stolen from under the back of a truck in Brittan Road.

Criminal Damage – Unknown persons have attempted to break the steering lock on a motorbike in Novello Close, and caused the handle bars to bend.

Hatch Warren Primary School has received some unwelcome attention by troublesome youths.  On one occasion youths climbed onto the roof and threw down tiles, damaging a fence.  Unfortunately these youths were not identified.
However, on a second occasion when youths entered the school grounds they were able to be identified. I am happy to say they will be revisiting the school to apologise to the children and will be reimbursing the school for flowers that they damaged.

Burglary – A property in Kempshott Lane was broken into to via an insecure window.  The alarm was triggered by movement in the kitchen and the suspects ran away.  No property was stolen. N.B ensure all doors and windows are secure.
A building site in Long Acre was broken into over the weekend and items stolen.

Robbery – Two males were reported being robbed by a gang of youths in Down Grange playing fields. The group were arrested and are under investigation.
A second robbery occurred near to Brighton Hill Community College.  Suspects arrested and are under investigation.

Last but not least (car sellers take notice) – theft of a vehicle.  A vehicle was advertised for sale in Beggarwood.  A potential buyer came to view the vehicle and while sat in the driver’s seat asked the owner to check the rear parking display.  He then drove the car away at speed.  Unbelievable!
