Local update

Alert message sent 29/05/2019 14:17:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Dear Residents,

Since the last update there have been continued theft from vehicles.
One theft was from an unlocked vehicle but three other vehicles had windows smashed and tools stolen.  These occurred in Pack Lane, Stavinsky Road and Delibes Road.
There have been several bicycle thefts – one taken from outside Sainsbury’s and 4 taken from inside Brighton Hill Community College. If you intend to leave your bike unattended please ensure that you use a good quality lock and chain to secure it.  Thieves carry bolt cutters that can easily cut through poor quality chains.
A vehicle was stolen from Beecham Berry.  It was an old car that was SORN and didn’t work so the owner is baffled as to how the offender(s) have taken it away.
There have been several garage break-ins where the offenders have damaged locks and taken items.  These occurred in Britannia Drive, Elgar Close and Longwood Copse.
Lastly, there have been 2 counts of criminal damage.  A vehicle in Gershwin Road was scratched and a fence panel damaged in Copland Close.

To report crime or suspicious activity, call us on 101 or report it online by going to www.hampshire.police.uk.  You can also report it anonymously to Crime Stoppers instead of the police, on 0800 555111.
