FAO LAND ROVER OWNERS

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

FAO LAND ROVER OWNERS

Dear Resident,

There have recently been a number of incidents where Land Rovers have been targeted for parts.

This has predominantly been DEFENDERS although Discoveries have also had parts removed on a couple of occasions.

Defenders have had mainly doors removed, however other parts have been taken including head and tail lights and bonnets.

If you have one of these vehicles please consider the below advice...

  • Where possible, lock your vehicle in a garage or secure outbuilding.

  • Try and make the vehicle difficult to get to i.e. surrounded closely by other vehicles, close to a wall etc.

  • Make sure any alarms are in good working order, particularly important for insurance should anything happen.

  • Consider CCTV, dash-cams, security lights.

We appreciate that particularly Defenders are predominantly working vehicles in this area and many rely on them as part of their livelihood and the vehicle being out of action could impact businesses.

If you need any further information or advice please do not hesitate to contact us.

If you have any information about the above you can contact us on 101 or anonymously via crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Kind regards,

Meon Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team
