Earlier today we issued advice around keeping outbuildings secure following burglaries in Shorwell.
Please note - the incidents took place on Sunday 17 February, not Saturday as originally stated.
Full details and advice is as follows:
We're reminding people to lock away tools and other belongings, and to keep sheds and outbuildings securely locked with a quality padlock, following 2 burglaries in the Main Road/Farriers Way area of Shorwell.
A chainsaw and a radio were stolen from outbuildings in two gardens overnight on Sunday 17 February.
We believe the culprits scaled the garden walls before accessing the outbuildings.
Remember to take photos of your expensive tools and record the serial numbers. There is a free website where you can record all of your items, including images and serial numbers called www.immobilise.com
If you have items stolen and they turn up again, anywhere in the country, then they can be traced back to you through Immobilise.
If you have a very expensive pushbike, consider a ground anchor in the place you store it, and lock the bike when not in use
