Vanilla Gift Cards cloned cards

Alert message sent 02/11/2018 09:22:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Good morning,

We have again seen an increase in use the of Vanilla Gift cards which have turned out to be cloned cards.

The maximum amount of money which can be pre-loaded on to a Vanilla Gift card is £50. therefore anyone who is presenting a Vanilla card as payment for goods for more than £50 and who are insisting on trying to enter the details from the card manually are likely to be cloned cards.

Please be cautious to this and if you encounter this, retain the card and call the police.
