The team has been busy over the past few weeks progressing investigations and responding to incidents across the area.
One of our vigilant PCSOs recently located a motorcycle that had been reported stolen. The vehicle had been concealed in a secluded location, and while officers awaited its recovery, the owner, who had been searching the area himself, arrived on scene. He was understandably delighted to be reunited with his motorcycle.
Officers have also been busy prosecuting shoplifters, dealing with neighbour disputes, attending road traffic collisions, and responding to a wide range of other incidents.
Last Wednesday afternoon, a large group of young people gathered in the Furlong and Ringwood High Street area. Some individuals within the group were involved in anti-social behaviour and the theft of items, including energy drinks, from Sainsbury's. During the policing response, officers seized an e-scooter and issued a Community Resolution for the possession of cannabis as well as moving the group out of the area.
To help address the ongoing issues, a Section 35 Dispersal Order had been authorised by Inspector Douglas. This power allows officers to direct individuals to leave the designated area if they are committing, or are likely to commit, anti-social behaviour, or if their behaviour is causing harassment, alarm, or distress to others. Anyone who fails to comply with a lawful direction by police may be arrested.
