Bike marking, speeding, ASB/Drugs and indecent exposure |
||
|
We were slightly overwhelmed by the numbers of people that turned up to get their bikes registered today, but in a good way. Thank you all for coming, we did about twelve bikes in total. Many of them were brand new and it was good to see they all had decent locks to go with them. While we were there some speed checks were done on Duke Road. All bar one of the drivers checked were below the speed limit for that road. The one driver that exceeded the limit was issued a Fixed Penalty Notice and will be dealt with accordingly. Not long after this we were called to Stokes Bay following the report of ASB with youths drinking alcohol and inhaling nitrous oxide from balloons. On our arrival the youths had gone but there was litter everywhere, nitrous oxide cannisters, balloons and broken bottles strewn across the walkway. At the same time a report of 30 youths fighting nearby came in, details were taken and one girl was taken home. Please, if you are reading this, check in with your kids and ask some questions if you think they may have been at Stokes Bay this evening. A good number of them are putting themselves at risk by drinking and or taking drugs, this was not the product of just one or two people. Aside from anything else Streetscene have enough to do and the public are entitled to feel safe when they are down at the sea front. Meanwhile a male was reported by members of the public for exposing himself at the Ferry Gardens, Gosport Neighbourhood officers attended and dealt with the male. He was searched and found to be in possession of a Class A drug, he is currently in custody at Portsmouth awaiting interview. Lastly a reminder that Neighbourhood officers will be on the High Street on Saturday between 11 and 2 for Gosport Community Day. 👍🏼
