Halloween Poster - No Trick or Treat |

Hello Resident
Not long until Halloween! 🎃🎃🎃 We hope the local community who wish to take part have fun. We have seen some great decorations whilst out on patrols!
However please remember, it might seem like innocent fun, but it can be terrifying for elderly or vulnerable people. Print our free poster if you want to avoid trick or treaters this year. You can stick it to your front door, so you can clearly show you do not want to have trick or treaters at your front door. Please print and pass on to any elderly or vulnerable people you feel this may help!
Please find some advice that we would like to share to ensure everyone feels and stays safe this Halloween: Elderly and/or vulnerable people:If you do not know who is calling at your house, you do not need to open the door. Try to see who is at the door by looking through a spy hole or window before opening the door. If you have a chain on your door – keep this in place when opening the door. If you feel threatened in your home, contact the police. A ‘No Trick or Treat' poster is attached to this email. If your child is going outside in a costume, make sure they are wearing reflective clothing or add reflective tape to their clothes. Carry a torch and consider road safety at all times. If your child is going out trick or treating, make sure they go out in a group, preferably accompanied by an adult. Older children should let you know where they are going and what time they will be back. Children should carry a mobile phone in a pocket or bag. Make sure your children know not to enter anyone's house or to accept lifts from strangers. Not everyone appreciates trick or treaters turning up at their door - look out for the 'No tricker or treaters poster' displayed in windows. Be respectful to others property if they don't answer the door or offer a treat. Playing trick could get you into trouble and may amount to a criminal offence.
