Moped crime

OFF THE ROAD! - It's been a busy day for Gosport Neighbourhoods and most of the work has centred around motor bikes. This one was spotted and matched the style of one that that been reported stolen earlier in the day. It turned out not to be that one but on closer inspection there were a number of issues with it that meant that a Traffic Officer was called to have it prohibited. This means that it has to be recovered and the mechanical defects have to be rectified before it can go back on the road. The owner was also issued with a £50 penalty ticket.

The same traffic officer was later involved in a fail to stop with the stolen bike referred to above. The rider was detained after a short foot chase and has since been arrested for the theft of the bike, document offences as well as drug driving and drug possession offences.

Another stolen bike had been found earlier in Leesland Park and will be returned to the owner.

Finally heading back to the station we chanced upon a motorbike rider that had come off of his bike on a bend on Mumby Road, lack of experience was a key factor.  He was fine but taken to hospital for checks whilst a friend took care of his bike. 🚑
