Appeal for witnesses after suspicious incident in Southsea

Officers investigating a suspicious incident in Southsea are appealing for witnesses and information.

We received a report that at around 7:40pm on Sunday 17 August, a 19 year-old woman was at Canoe Lake when she was approached by a man who spoke to her briefly and grabbed her wrist before a second man intervened. 

The woman was not seriously injured during the incident and both men left the area a short time later in the direction of Albert Road.

The man has been described as:

  • Black
  • Bald
  • Large build
  • Aged 30-40
  • Wearing a long military/cargo style coat and shorts
  • We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have any video or photos of the man.
