Appeal for witnesses and information following suspicious incident in Portsmouth

Officers investigating a suspicious incident in Portsmouth are appealing for witnesses and information.

We received a report that at around 6:45pm on Sunday 10 August, a man in his 50s had been cycling through the Swan Lake area when he hit a fishing line which had been tied between two trees.

The man was thrown from his bike and suffered minor injuries, including injuries to his face, but did not require hospital treatment.

We are appealing for information relating to anyone seen behaving suspiciously in the area prior to, or around the time of, the incident.

We would also like to advise any persons responsible that this behaviour carries a serious risk of injury to unsuspecting members of the public and will be dealt with accordingly.
