Quick tips to stay safe at home
• No appointment, no entry. Always ask for ID. Legitimate buyers won’t turn up unannounced
• Keep valuables out of sight. Don’t display high value items in windows
• Never discuss your possessions with strangers
• Don’t feel pressured – you are allowed to say NO
• Report suspicious behaviour. Even if you’re unsure, it’s better to report and be safe that silent and sorry
• Look out for others. Many scammers target older residents – a quick check in could make all the difference
