Local Priorities Vehicle Crime - theft from / theft of Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle Crime - theft from / theft of, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Following a vehicle stop and subsequent search in the area of Stirling Close, Totton shortly after 7pm yesterday (Tuesday 8 July), two men were detained by officers.

A 21-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft of a motor vehicle, handling stolen goods, being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug and fraudulently using a registration mark.

A 24-year-old man from Horsham, West Sussex has been arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft of a motor vehicle, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession of a controlled drug of Class B and
concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B.

Officers also seized cannabis, cash and tools.

Both men have been released on conditional police bail, pending further enquiries. We'll do our best to keep you updated on developments with this one, where possible.
