Weekly Summary - Week of 16/06/2025

It has been a non-stop weekend for us here at the Winchester City Neighbourhood Policing Team!

Here are a few highlights of the incidents we have attended:

- On Friday, we were made aware of an altercation in the city centre involving a large group of youths and a male. A number of officers were deployed to the area to manage the crowd and several offences were disclosed upon arrival, including assaults and a racially aggravated public order. One male was arrested by PC Baldwin for these offences and upon searching the male, cannabis was found on his person. He was further arrested for being in possession of a class B drug. He was taken into custody and has since been bailed pending further investigation.

- PC Harries and PC Jeffery were in the city assisting with Night Time Economy patrols. There was an altercation in McDonalds which they were there as it happened, before the call had even come in. This is one of many incidents over the weekend reported in person to those Bobbies walking the beat. This shows the importance of being out and about, even in the heat!

- On Saturday, PCSO Window was out on patrol when he sighted a female who was wanted for theft. The female was arrested by PC Croxton and has since been remanded into custody pending a court appearance for the outstanding offences.

- Due to demand requirements across Hampshire and Isle of Wight this weekend, some of our officers have been busy covering District Policing shifts. This has been all over to places such as Aldershot and Basingstoke, and as far as supporting the Isle of Wight festival! We have also supported events such as the Moto X GP, whilst PCSO Parker managed to squeeze in a beat surgery in town!

I’m sure a few of our officers have caught the sun this week but we are all looking forward to the rest days to recover!
