Man, 33, jailed for going equipped for vehicle theft in New Forest

A 33-year-old man from Surrey has been jailed after being found guilty of going equipped for theft of a motor vehicle.

Ellis Glynne, of Park View, Hersham was convicted of the offence when he appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 18 June.

He was sentenced to four months behind bars and made subject to a forfeiture order.

The sentencing follows a stop search of a car at the junction of the A337 and A35, Lyndhurst shortly before midnight on Wednesday 23 April.

As part of the forfeiture order, property found in Glynne’s possession on the night in question, which included a jamming device, walkie talkie, gloves, balaclavas and a car diagnostic tool and key, must be forfeited and destroyed. #Jailed
