A drug dealer has been jailed for more than five years after officers found Class A drugs worth more than £45,000 in Basingstoke. Nathan Mullings, 34, of Alders Close, Basingstoke, was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on Friday 16 May. The court heard that detectives had launched an investigation into Class A drug supply in Basingstoke between January 2024 and January 2025. As part of the investigation, officers attended a property on Montserrat Road on Wednesday 15 January 2025 and found more than 5,700 wraps of suspected Class A drugs and £900 in cash. Officers also found £3,800 in cash following a search of a property on Alders Close on the same day. The court heard that Mullings was the ‘CJ Line’ holder and used runners to supply drugs across the district. He was charged and pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and acquiring / using / possessing criminal property. Mullings was jailed for five years and six months at Winchester Crown Court on 16 May. Police Staff Investigator Michael Longmore, from the Northern Area Crime Team, said: “I hope this sentence highlights that our officers will do everything in their power to ensure Basingstoke is not targeted by drugs networks. “We know that drug supply causes harm and misery to our communities and is linked to acquisitive crime, as well as some of the most serious violence we see. “We are determined to keep relentlessly pursuing criminals to reduce the negative impact they have on the local community, making it safe for everyone.” | ||||
