Hello,

This afternoon and evening, the South/West Neighbourhood Policing Team has been conducting an Operation to address the increase in illegal e-scooter and e-bike usage around the South Ham and Kempshott areas. We were joined by colleagues from North/East Neighbourhood Policing Team, Neighbourhood Enforcement Team (NET) and our Special Constables.

A reminder it’s illegal to ride a privately owned electric scooter in a public place.

During the operation we have seized 3 e-scooters and 1 modified electric push bike, made 2 arrests, completed 1 stop search, issued 1 out of court disposal, issued around 20 e-scooter warning letters as well as given plenty of verbal education. 

This will continue to be a focus of our team and we plan do more of these joint operations in the near future.
