What does visible policing mean to you?

Help shape the future of policing in your community.

Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones wants to hear from you to increase police visibility and engagement. Whilst the Commissioner has increased police officer numbers to ensure the force will have the highest number of officers in over a decade, reopened local police stations, and launched the Local Bobby scheme to ensure every community has a named and contactable police officer - Time and again, residents tell the Commissioner, I don't see local police officers in my area.

Now she wants to know: what does visible policing mean to you?

We're asking residents across the region to share their views in a short survey that will help shape how local policing looks and feels on your streets.

Here are just some of the important questions we're exploring:

  • What does police visibility mean to you?
  • Do you consider police cars responding to calls a form of patrol?
  • What would more visible policing look like in your community?
  • What crimes impact you most where you live?
  • Do you feel your local police are doing a good job?
  • Your feedback will directly inform future decisions around neighbourhood policing, visibility, and police engagement.  It takes less than two minutes to complete!

    Take the survey here: https://survey.alchemer.eu/s3/90819387/Trust-and-Confidence-HIOW-OPCC-May-2025

    Thank you for taking part.
