Man, 27, arrested following proactive stop in Aldershot


A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug and driving offences following a proactive stop in Aldershot.

Officers were patrolling the town on Friday 25 April when they noticed suspicious activity linked to a silver Mercedes car on Albion Mews.

The driver exited the vehicle and tried to flee the scene but was quickly detained by officers.

Following a search, officers located nine bags of suspected Class A drugs, two mobile phones and £225 in cash. All items, including the car, were seized.

A 27-year-old man from Rayleigh, Essex, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, driving a vehicle dangerously and driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

He has been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.
