Hi Resident
If you find this information helpful please “rate” this message at the bottom (very quick and simple). Last Saturday night was wedged between Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night . . . I am expecting it to be busy, all my kit is sorted and I am ready to go out when needed 👻🧨 I see that a second racoon has been found, it’s always the weird things that happen on the Island that make the national news 😅 I have some mini handcuffs ready should I find one breaking in to sheds. A very busy week, several arrests for a wide range of offences and there are various other things going on. I’ll share with you a few things we have been dealing with. Last night at 23:37 hours, officers were in Cowes and spotted an illegal electric motorbike and stopped it on Consort Road. Not only did the rider not have a driving licence, these bikes are not road legal and as such you are not able to obtain insurance, tax or MOT. They can reach some crazy speeds and are not safe for the rider or the public. The bikes also cost a few thousand pounds to buy and it will now be crushed. Earlier on in the night, officers were on proactive patrol in Newport and stopped a person that was acting suspiciously, using our powers under Stop & Search a large knife was located. They were arrested and a decision on what will happen will be made in due course. We also had a few other arrests, a man was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault and another person with an outstanding warrant I’m expecting it to be busy in the towns tonight, a few large premises have late night events on across the Island. Officers will be out on foot patrol to deal with any issues. I plan on completing some paperwork first and will go out later on. The team have some sweets to keep them going overnight. Have fun and stay safe. Sgt Radford | ||||
