Suspected Stolen Pushbikes - Winchester City Centre

Good evening residents of Winchester.

I'm writing this message to appeal to local residents regarding a recent rise in pushbike thefts we have noted over the past few weeks in the Winchester City area.

While my colleagues continue to investigate thefts in the area, I am happy to report a recent success story in Stanmore.

While out on patrol yesterday evening, I was made aware by a resident that he had noticed several pushbikes abandoned in a nearby wooded area that had only appeared in the last few days. After seizing the bikes and bringing them back to the Police Station, I was able to find a serial number on the bottom of one of the frames, and link it to a burglary reported in Winchester.

This bike has now been returned to its happy owner.

I am still looking to return the other bike to its rightful owner.

See attached a photo of the bike, which can be described as an electric VIKING E-VANTAGE pushbike in cream/white. We have been able to find a serial number on the bike.

Do you recognise it? If so, please contact Police on 101 citing reference number 44240425034.

As mentioned, we have unfortunately see a rise in pushbike thefts. I will speak with my PCSO colleagues about arranging another “Bike Marking Event” for the near future, where we will be able to share safeguarding tips for owners, and assist in marking property.

Thank you very much,
