Appeal for information after 12-year-old boy is assaulted in Gosport


We’re appealing for information regarding an assault on a child in Gosport.

 

It’s reported that at around 6.30pm on Tuesday 6 August, a 12-year-old boy was walking home, having purchased a drink at the Best Buy shop on Rowner Lane, when he was grabbed on the shoulders from behind by a man he did not know.

 

This incident happened in an area of garages off Rowner Lane, opposite the Masten Crescent junction.

 

The man did not say anything as he grabbed the boy, and the boy punched the man in the stomach to get away before running off towards home.

 

The man has been described as:

 

  • White
  • Aged 20-30 
  • Around 5ft 10ins tall
  • Medium build
  • Large shaggy brown beard
  • Deep voice
  • Grey long-sleeved sports fleece
  • Black baggy board shorts
  • Potentially has a tattoo on his right forearm or hand
