You Said – We Did! Anti Social Behaviour

South Wight Neighbourhoods Team started the day with a Warrant at Shanklin which resulted in an arrest (see our last FB update).

PCSO May spotted an outstanding suspect walking through Shanklin and we deployed our E-Bikes to assist the District Patrol Teams to track him down. A Shift located the suspect and a 50yr old male was swiftly arrested for three incidents of theft!

PC Carey and I then deployed on E-Bikes bikes to reports of youths causing Anti-Social Behaviour in Batts Copse and both Landguard and Lower Hyde Holiday Parks. We located the group of 10 and dispersed them from the area for 48 hours using Section 35 Dispersal Powers. We will also follow-up with each young person using our ASB Diversion under Operation Spider to prevent long term issues.

Just when we thought it was home time we deployed to reports of a male exposing himself on Sandown Beach. Thanks to the E-Bikes we were on scene quickly and arrested a 21yr old male from Lake on suspicion of Indecent Exposure. The male proceeded to assault two Police officers. We would like to thank the public, the RNLI lifeguards, our colleagues from other departments and PC Dunn an off duty TVP Police officer who came to our assistance! The suspect remains in Police Custody at the time of writing.
