Man, 33, sentenced following five shopliftings from Totton stores


SENTENCED: A 33-year-old man from Totton has been sentenced following five shopliftings from Totton stores in March and April.

Joseph Daniel Arnold, of no fixed abode, was detained in Totton shortly before 9pm on Wednesday 1 May.

He was subsequently remanded in custody and appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday 23 May).

Arnold pleaded guilty to all five thefts, which took place in Morrisons, Spruce Drive and Asda, Maynard Road, between Wednesday 6 March and Tuesday 30 April.

He was given a £120 fine and ordered to pay £86.76 in compensation. He has also been handed a community order and is subject to a rehabilitation activity requirement.
