Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones is looking for volunteers in the north of the county to make visits to check on the human rights and welfare of those held in police custody in Basingstoke.

Independent Custody Visitors make unannounced visits to police custody suites to check that people detained there are being properly looked after. They are completely independent of the police service.

Training will be provided and travel expenses are refunded for volunteers from the local area.
