Two men charged in connection with Sandown Co-op burglary


Officers have charged two men in connection with a burglary at a shop in Sandown High Street.

 

Police were called at 10.21pm on 15 February, when it was reported that a large quantity of cash had been stolen from Co-Op.

 

Following enquiries, Billy Craig Connis, aged 33, of Bernard Street in Southampton, was charged with burglary and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.

 

He was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 17 February. At the hearing, he was bailed with conditions to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on 26 March.

 

Thomas Paul Edward Weller, aged 37, of Mousehole Lane in Southampton, was also charged with burglary, in addition to a charge of driving without insurance.

 

He was bailed with conditions to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on 26 March.
