Teenager charged with East Cowes robbery


A teenager has been charged in connection with a robbery at Central Stores in Well Road, East Cowes.

 

It’s alleged that at around 7.50pm on Wednesday 14 February, a member of staff at the premises challenged a shoplifter. Following this, it’s then alleged that the worker was pushed into a glass fridge door, resulting in her nose being broken.

 

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and subsequently charged with robbery. He was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 17 February.

 

At the hearing, he was bailed with conditions to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on 28 February.
